Human Machine Interface (HMI) really means control screen on a piece of machinery or equipment. These are used by operators in production industries to interpret visual data into relevant info.
HMIs are also used to monitor plant and equipment and ensure it is operating correctly. ‘At-a-glance’ easy-to-understand visual displays are used to provide a snapshot of current data received from things like tank levels, pressure measurements, vibration levels, temperature levels, motor status, valve status and so forth.
However, the newer versions of HMIs go beyond just managing these procedures — rather, developing and maintaining improved product quality and system efficiency. Techniques such as timekeeping and analysis can be useful complementing phases we might be in the final stage of production.
HMIs are vital in ensuring factory facilities operate smoothly and effectively.rup.
But not all HMIs are born equal.
